We will use Courtship Rite by Donald Kingsbury as inspiration for this poly discussion., though you don’t need to read it to participate. It is a story about a society in which group marriage is the norm, but political difficulties and dangerous adventure ensue when a group breaks tradition by adding a seventh to their group marriage in addition to the societally acceptable six. Nonconformity wins out and a great deal of wisdom on day-to-day life in such a group is to be gleaned.

We will also discuss “courtship rites” necessary to put together a group marriage or group house in THIS society based on Terry’s experience as a 4th generation matchmaker (making poly matches as well as monogamous ones since 1969) while doing professional hypnotherapy and poly relationship coaching. Real-life case histories and research provide even more food for thought.
  • 1pm | Potluck Lunch – Bring something healthy and delicious to share.  
  • 2-4pm | Socializing in the clothing-optional hot tub, bring sandals and a towel.
